River city gardens

Kaunas has houses with gardens on the edges of the city. A barrel sauna fits well in such a garden.

Choose a firm level base and keep the stove area clear.

Reservoir, forests and summer houses

Kaunas has a large reservoir on the Nemunas, pine forests nearby and many summer houses in the surrounding villages. The sauna season is long here.

A barrel sauna on a slab terrace suits a summer plot as much as a family house. It needs no concrete foundation, and the parts are carried by hand.

Tell us about the lane to your gate, any narrow bridges or low branches, and we can plan the delivery.

Group sauna evenings

Lithuanians often gather friends or family for a sauna evening. The 3 m barrel seats a handful of people at once, with a stove between two benches. Keep the schedule relaxed, bring water and snacks, and let guests take breaks outside.

Lithuanian sauna habits

Many Lithuanians use birch or oak whisks in the sauna and finish with a cool rinse. The barrel gives enough room for this at home.

Preparing the site

Mark the footprint on the ground, remove turf, compact a bed of gravel and set slabs level. Allow a little extra on every side. The whole job is a day for two people, and you can finish it before the kit arrives.
