Sauna kit: build it yourself or have our crew fit it?
What a garden sauna kit includes, how long self-assembly takes, the tools you need, common mistakes, and when to let our crew build it for you.
Read →A barrel sauna kit is built from parts that were prepared and fitted at the factory, with a step-by-step illustrated manual in the box. The rest is preparation you can do in your own time, and it decides whether assembly goes smoothly.
We sell the sauna as a self-assembly kit. All elements are made and fitted at the factory in Poland, and delivery to Lithuania is included in the kit price.
Manufacture takes 4–6 weeks, then about a week for delivery. The kit comes on a pallet of about 240 × 120 × 120 cm weighing around 800 kg, by haulier with a tail-lift lorry to the kerb or driveway. Two people unload it and carry the elements to the site.
Assembly is your choice: build it yourself, ask a local tradesperson, or order our crew from 1 390 €. The crew come, assemble, treat the wood and connect the stove.
A level base: paving, concrete slabs or compacted gravel, levelled in both directions. This is the one thing that cannot be done on assembly day.
Access at least a metre wide from the unloading point to the site. Check the gate, side passage, gaps between buildings and low branches.
A place for the lorry to stop, as close as possible, and someone at the address to receive the delivery.
With an electric stove: have the cable run to the site by an electrician. A cable added later means a second visit.
Tools for self-assembly: a cordless screwdriver, a hammer, a spirit level and a stepladder.
A gate or side passage that is too narrow, by far the most common cause.
A base laid “by eye” and out of level.
A waterlogged lawn that nothing carrying a load can cross.
Steps on the way to the site.
Two adults need roughly two days the first time, following the manual.
Unload and set the supports on the prepared base.
Assemble the shell, the longest step.
Fit the door, benches, LED lighting (IP65) and ventilation.
Install the stove and run the flue with the required clearances to the timber.
First firing: the stove’s protective coating burns in. Smoke and a sharp smell are normal at this moment.
The wood creaks as it heats; it is moving and settling.
Fine surface cracks along the grain can appear. That is a property of the material.
After the first season the steel bands usually need re-tightening. That is normal maintenance, not a defect.
